Tripunithura Athachamayam 2023 / Thripunithura Athaghosham on August 20th, 2023. The famous onam celebration – Tripunithura Athachamayam will be held on August 20th, at Tripunithura, Ernakulam. Thripunithura Athakhosham marks the colourful beginning of 10 day Onam festival in Kerala. This is conducted every year on the Atham day of the Malayalam Month Chingam (August – September month). The main highlight of Thripunithura Athachamayam is the historical Atham procession.
The beautiful and eye catching athaghosham procession includes many traditional arts forms like Theyyam, Panchavadyam, Mayilattom, Pulikali, Pambamelam, Kolkali, Kummatti, Yakshaganam, pancahrimelam, Karakattam, Kummi, Kathakali, Ammankudam and Aattakavadi etc.. Many cultural programmes includes magic show, Kurithiyattam, various dance programmes and a mini amusement park will be included as part of this Onam Celebration at Tripunithura.
