Thekkady Kerala

Thekkaddy is one of the main tourist attraction in Kerala. It is located in Idukki district of Kerala, India. Main attraction of Thekkady is the wildlife sanctuary Periyar National Park. The Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary is spread across 777 km2 with evergreen forest. This is the location of beautiful hills, spices plantations and waterfalls. Wildlife Sanctuary park offers the eye catching experience to view the wild animals, tigers, deers, lion, reptiles, leopards, Nilgiri langurs, reptiles and various specious of birds. Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary was declared as a tiger reserve and elephant reserve. The main attractions are the herds of wild elephants, deer and other animals that come down to play in the Periyar lake. Tourists can be ride within the sanctuary through a trekking, boating or jeep safari.
