Eravikulam National Park

Eravikulam National Park is one of the main attraction of Munnar. The park is located in the Kannan Devan Hills of the southern Western Ghats. The National Park is famous for the flora and fauna. It is a home to the Nilgiri tahr also known as Nilgiri Ibex and also several other endangered species. Eravikulam National Park is known to be the first national park in Kerala which covers an area of about 97sq km. Neelakurinji flowers bloom every twelve years in the hill slopes covered in a carpet of blue making it a wonderful sight.

Mattupetty Dam

Another famous destination for traveler’s visiting Munnar is Mattupetty dam which is located 13km from Munnar Town. It is situated at a height of 1700 m above the sea level. Famous tourist spots here include the Mattupetty Dam and Lake. the The District Tourism Promotion Council (DTPC) of Idukki has operated boat service for the visitors to have a wonderful motorboat experience across the lake.
