The Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) has decided to impose fine from the consumers, if the meter readers cannot take the meter reading from the house two times continuously.
As per the new decision by KSEB the houses and buildings, which are gate-locked and prevent the access from outside, will have to pay a fine of Rs 250 from single phase owners and Rs 500 from three phase owners, if the officials from KSEB failed to record the meter reading more than two times. Consumers using high-tension would be levied a fine of Rs 5,000.
The order has come into effect and the new rule is in accordance to the criteria set by Electricity Regulatory Commission.
