Applications are invited online only by ‘One Time Registration’ from qualified candidates for the under mentioned Post. Note i:- The ranked list of candidates finalized by the commission in pursuance of this notification shall cease to be in force after one year from the date off inalization of the ranked list.
Candidates will beadvised from the said list against the existing vacancies and that may be reported to the commission in writing during the period of currency of the list.
Note ii:- In the case of difference in original caste/community claimed in the applications and that entered in SSLC book, the candidate shall produce a gazette notification in this regard along with Non creamy layer certificate / caste certificate issued by competent revenue authority, at the time of verification
Age Limit : 20 – 31 : Candidates born between 2.1.1989 and 1.1.2000 (both dates included) only eligible to apply for this post. Other Backward Communities and SC/ST candidates are eligible for usual age relaxation. In the case of Clerks of Fire & Rescue Department the upper age limit for appointment as station Officer by direct recruitment shall be 39 years. Other conditions regarding age relaxations are not applicable for this post.
Qualifications
1) Essential : Graduation in Science from a recognized University preferably in Chemistry
Note : KS & SSR Part II Rule 10 (a) ii is applicable.
Preferential:- A good record in Sports and Games.

Note i: Only International, National, Inter zonal, Inter-state or State sporting events organized or re organized by any of the organizations listed in Appendix VII of the Kerala Service Rules shall be accepted for this purpose.
Note ii: Preferential qualification mentioned above shall come within the meaning.

Note: Physical Measurement of the candidates will be taken prior to the Physical Efficiency test and those who do not satisfy the prescribed Physical standards will not be allowed to participate in the Physical Efficiency test under any circumstances.

Note 1: (a)Each eye must have full field of vision.
(b) Colour Blindness, Squint or any morbid conditions of the eyes or lids of either eye shall be a disqualification for appointment
Note 2 : Must be certified to possess the visual standards specified above without glasses. Candidates should produce a Medical Certificate issued by a Medical Officer not below the rank of a Civil Surgeon as to the candidates physique, fitness and capacity for rough outdoor work and also ofthe visual standards when the commission intimates.
Note: Details regarding standards of vision should be clearly stated in the Certificate, as given above. Vague statements such as vision normal/Average etc. will not be accepted. Specification for each eye should be stated separately. If the specifications are not as indicated above, the certificate will not be accepted.
4) Physical Efficiency Test – A Physical Efficiency test will be conducted by the commission to assess the physical efficiency of the candidates. Candidates must qualify in at least 5 out of 8 items in the physical efficiency test showing the minimum standards of efficiency as noted below

Bond:- A person appointed by direct recruitment to the post of Station Officer shall execute a bond as given in Annexure IV, binding himself to serve in the department for a period of 7 years, and shall pay to Government a sum of Rs8000/- in case he fails to serve in the department for the said period.
9.Probation:- Every person appointed to the post shall from the date on which he joins duty be on probation for a total period of two years on duty within a continuous period of three years. He shall within the prescribed period of probation, pass the following test if he has not already passed them namely:-
(i)The department test in the Kerala Fire Force Standing Orders and Practice.
(ii)St.John’s Ambulance Examination in First Aid.
(iii)Account Test (Lower)
Training :
i) Course of initial training for the prescribed period in the State Fire Service Training School/National Fire Service College, Nagpur or any other recognized Fire Service Institution and a pass in the examination in the subjects prescribed for the course, if not already under gone such training and passed the examination(ii)After the above course, training for an actual period of six months on duty with a fully trained Assistant D
Mode of submitting applications
Candidates must register as per ‘ONE TIME REGISTRATION’ with the official Website of Kerala Public Service Commission www.keralapsc.gov.in before applying for the post. Candidates who have registered can apply by logging on to their profile using their User-ID and password. Candidates must click on the ‘Apply Now’ button of the respective posts in the Notification Link to applying for a post. The Photograph uploaded should be one taken on or after the specified date.
Name of the candidate and the date of taking photograph should be printed at the bottom portion. The photograph once uploaded meeting all requirements shall valid for 10 years from the date of uploading.There is no change in other instructions regarding the uploading of photographs. No application fee is required. Candidates shall take a printout of the application by clicking the link Registration Card in their profile.
Candidates are responsible for the correctness of the personal information and secrecy of password. Before the final submission of the application on the profile candidates must ensure correctness of the information on their profile. They must quote the User-ID for further communication with the Commission. Application submitted is provisional and cannot be deleted or altered after submission.
The application will be summarily rejected if non compliance with the notification is found in due course of processing. Documents to prove qualification, Experience, Community, age etc have to be produced as and when called for.
12. Appropriate Disciplinary action as per Rules of procedure Rule 22 shall be initiated against those candidates who submit applications with bogus claims of qualification regarding education, experience etc and submit confirmation for writing examination irrespective of whether they are present or absent for the examination.

15.If Written Test / OMR Test / Online Test is conducted as a part of this selection candidate shall submit a confirmation for writing the examination through heir One Time Registration Profile. Such candidates alone can generate and download the admission tickets in the last fifteen days till the date of test.
The applications of candidate who do not submit confirmation within the stipulated period will be rejected absolutely. The periods regarding the submission of confirmation and the availability of admission tickets will be published in the examination calendar itself. Information in this regard will be given to the candidates in their respective profiles and in the mobile phone number registered in it. Candidates who have downloaded the Admission Ticket will alone be permitted to attend the examination.
